I usually get rid of the buckets, crutches, splints, wheelbarrow, and stepladder since those can all be made from wood by the carpenter after making some wooden beds. And if you dont have enough embark points to add an item, it won't show up even if it's available. While adding a new item, you can start typing in the name to search for something, but then it's still sorted by category, so you may still need to move the cursor down to another category to see it. While you are on the items screen, you can press n to add a new item type to your wagon. You can press "tab" to switch between your embark items and your dwarves starting skills.

It took me a while to figure out how to use the "Prepare Carefully" menu. I usually put too much thought into it probably.

But none of them actually get used for your game unless you select one of their profiles when you embark in-game. These are the 4 sets of embark profiles you have to choose from in the launcher for PE's Starter Pack. People who want to embark with no tools should prepare carefully.) You could end up with no tools and no bituminous coal to make tools. The last three are for those who want to make their own tools instead of starting with picks and axes. First one gives you 7 miners and 7 picks for making mega builds from the start. You can read it in your /LNP/embarks/default_profiles.txt file, or you can also find it here: īut still, you might be better off preparing carefully so if your civ doesn't have iron, you can get a select a steel anvil instead of an iron anvil, or if your civ doesn't have bituminous coal, you can add lignite instead.Īdvanced profiles - this one says it's for experienced players. His is really nice because it contains explainations of everything he's doing. The default profiles also contains Clinodev's profiles. But really you could start with completely unskilled dwarves and be fine, so it's not much of a challenge, but it sounds like kind of fun. Note: You didn't really break down, this is just flavour backstory.)ĭefault profiles - this is mostly stuff that is trying to be useful, but there's also a fun one called "eniteri's Liberal Arts Majors) where you get 7 dwarfs who are scholars and poets as a challenge embark. Start as a trading caravan with 6 merchants and an armed guard whose wagon broken down. Starting scenarios - This contains a bunch of roleplay embark profiles. (But there's also a more recent Captain Duck embark profile in the default profiles, so there's not much reason for the tutorial profiles file to exist, imo.) And the other is for Captain Duck's tutorial- I'm guessing this one. One is for one of Mayday's tutorials (which I am not able to find). Tutorial profiles - This contains two embark profiles. It doesn't really matter which one you have selected if you're not going to use them.

Oh, the profile selection in the LNP launcher determines which embark profiles are available to you when you embark. Kitfox Discord #modding-discussion channelīronzemurder and Oilfurnace (illustrated)
